Although I had always enjoyed taking photographs on holiday, I became interested in "serious" photography early in 2007, when a friend asked me if I was doing anything the following weekend. She needed an assistant at a wedding shoot so handed me her Nikon D70, told me to go away and take lots of pictures, and if she liked what I produced, then the job was mine.

It seems she liked my work, and I have accompanied her to several weddings since then. My role is to catch the candid shots which, added to her more formal ones, make up the 'story book' of the day.

In the autumn of 2007 I joined the Midhurst Camera Club. Entering prints into the monthly competitions, and receiving comments from the judges has, I hope, helped to improve my eye for a picture.

I have always had a great love of horses and have recently been specialising in taking photographs at western and polo events, as I enjoy the challenge of capturing the movement and excitement.
